Albert E. Ganter is has been Director of Music at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Cedar Grove, NJ for over 20 years where he is the principal organist and directs all music programs in the parish and school. He also teaches Pre K4 to 5th Grade Music and Directs the Spring Musical at St. Vincent Martyr School in Madison, NJ. Past shows Mr. Ganter has musically directed are: Suessical, Honk, Into the Woods, Nunsense, Godspell, Once on this Island, and Oz to name a few.

Over the past two decades, his passion to teach music to children and youth has led children’s choruses to have been featured on local and international television. A recent collaboration was with Escolania de Monseratt, a professional boychoir from Spain and their conductor/composer Bernat Viviancos during their first tour of the United States. His choirs have also been featured with various community choirs and orchestras such as John Rutter’s Mass of the Children with the Summit Chorale, A Night of Disney with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Music from the Silver Screen with the Hanover Wind Symphony, collegiate opera productions of Hansel and Gretel, the national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as well as various Archdiocesan events.

Mr. Ganter’s groups have also performed as a schools ambassador for American Young Voices, a music education program where students perform in a world class arena with thousands of students and professional musicians, sound, and lighting under noted conductor Francisco Nunez. He has been a clinician and adjudicator for Classic/Heritage Music Festivals and has presented workshops for the National Association of Pastoral Musicians on Multi-Cultural Liturgy.

His education in the choral arts comes from Westminster Choir College of Rider University where he was selected to study as a conducting intern with Jean Ashworth Bartle, founder of the Toronto Children’s Chorus and Craig Denison of the American Boychoir. He has studied Kodaly Methodology at New York University and is certified in 4Mat Educational Model pioneered by educational psychologist Bernice McCarthy.  The past few summers, he has taking part in The YPC (Young People's Chorus of NYC) National Studio for conductors and educators studying conducting with Francisco and Elizabeth Nunez, Dr. Doreen Rao, and composer Jim Papoulis. He has performed in concert with the New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, and The Orchestra of St. Luke’s while as a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir. Also as a member of the Westminster Concert Bell Choir, he was seen on an episode of PBS’ Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.  Mr. Ganter is thrilled to be a part of this new venture to promote a lifelong love for music and singing for children and youth with North Jersey Classical Voices.
